The First Royal Wedding of 2019 will be the one of Lady Gabriella Windsor and financier Thomas Kingston.
The couple will tie the knot in the spring of 2019 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. This is the same venue used by Meghan and Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in 2018. The wedding will be private, family and friends only, and won’t be televised.
“Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston. The engagement took place in August; Mr Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark,” Buckingham Palace confirmed.
Royal author Robert Jobson confirmed the presence of most senior royals but said that the Queen might not attend.
The Queen is paternal first cousin with Lady Gabriella’s father, Prince Michael of Kent. He was seventh on the list for the throne when he was born, however he is now number 47.
Another reason why the Queen might not attend the wedding is that she also skipped Lord Frederick Windsor wedding, Lady Gabriella’s brother when he married Sophie Winkleman in 2009.
